Once upon a time...

...there was a little dog (who wasn't really that little, but she wasn't big either) who thought that she wanted to be a turkey for Thanksgiving. She had heard that the turkey was always well stuffed on Thanksgiving, and that sounded just perfect for her. She loved to stuff herself, she'd eat and eat, even when she was full!

So the dog made herself a turkey costume and dressed up in it and went outside waiting with all the other turkeys. She did her best impression of a turkey hoping that she would be picked.

After a while the dog heard some people approaching. "Oh, I can't wait for Thanksgiving dinner, I just love turkey," said one man. "How big a turkey do you think we should get? 30 pounds, 40 pounds?" said another. "Oh for sure, maybe more!" said the first one. The dog was excited, they'd certainly pick her! She weighed 70 pounds at least!

"I can't wait to taste that bird and eat all the stuffing inside it," said one of the men. "Oh no!" thought the dog to herself, "eat the turkey?" She suddenly panicked and tried to hide! She didn't want to be eaten! She just wanted to fill her belly! As the men approached, she realized there was no escape. They would surely see her.

Turn on your graphics. The punchline is this picture.

“Wow! Look at the size of that turkey!” they exclaimed.

“She's much too cute to eat, don't you think?”

So instead of being eaten, the little dog was invited to Thanksgiving dinner and was able to get her belly filled after all. And of course everyone complimented her on her wonderful costume (although some people were puzzled by seeing a turkey eating dinner with them).

Happy Thanksgiving!
